Astrid Hengartner
Astrid grew up in northern New Mexico and completed her undergraduate studies at Yale University, earning a degree in neuroscience with cum laude honors and distinction in the major. Following graduation, she moved to Denver to conduct research craniopharyngioma in the laboratory of Dr. Todd Hankinson at the University of Colorado. She then returned to Yale for her medical education, during which she dedicated a fifth year to clinical research focused on improving outcomes in pediatric and spinal neurosurgery under the mentorship of Dr. Aladine Elsamadicy and Dr. Michael DiLuna.
In her free time, Astrid enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves anything outdoors including hiking, skiing, and tennis, and enjoys knitting, playing guitar, and making soup.
